The fam hopped in the truck and headed off to St. Vincent de Paul in hopes of finding a good (re: cheap) piece of furniture to use as a TV stand. While we didn’t find the perfect entertainment center, we did strike gold…
Behold, sitting on the used CD shelf in all its musical glory, there it was. Brooke Trisler’s critically acclaimed debut album, “Fade”. $3. A bargain at twice the cost.
We did wind up buying an entertainment center, but it’s a couple inches too tall for the spot in which it is supposed to reside. Gotta love old houses, you know, with 11-foot ceilings on the first and second floors, and an inability to put a 7-foot piece of furniture on the third floor. While it rests (peacefully, we hope) in the back of the Silverado overnight, we’ll be trying to decide if we’re going to take the saw to it and make it fit or if we’re going to try to challenge the “no return” policy.
Life at the Thrift Store. Always an adverture.
Oh, and Toby is refusing to poop in the potty, so that’s fun. Any ideas on how to convince a 3 1/2 year old that crapping himself isn’t the best idea?
you should soil yourself and show him the results. he’ll get it then.
things i always find at a thrift store… always:
1990 Reds World Series Champs t shirts
&
Mets hats
i can’t explain it.
the poop has to be made uncomfortable. if he poops in his pants, he sits in it a while. while the initial act of crapping in ones pants is always fun and convenient, the longer you have sit / squish / walk around in it…
dunno. it worked with students i worked with years ago.
Don’t use any of the pp’s ideas! Remember gentle parenting is a loving and patient approach to something that could otherwise be really easy.
I have made returns at SVDP before, good luck!
COnner did the same thing! Parker doesn’t like poopping his pants and will do that in the potty but not #1 he just turned 3 so hopefully we can get it under control… But yea Conner was a pants pooper at 3 1/2 …..I can’t remember how we got him to stop… he just kinda stopped… it’s a pain i know! Hang in there!!
Sing to him OTR’s song…”Poop, Poop, Poop goes in the Potty”! Mike said it worked while training Aidan.
You called that shit poop!
