Me (driving): When we get home, how about we have some dessert and go to bed?
Toby: That sounds like it would be excellent.
(pause)
Toby: Daddy, what does “excellent” mean?
Me: It means “really good”. Like, I think that would be really good… I think that would be excellent.
Toby: Yeah, excellent and really good are really quite similar.

Mommy (picking him up from pre-school): How was your day at school?
Toby: Well, Mommy, I can’t tell you about my day. My tongue is tired. I did a lot of talking today.

Me (laying with him in his bed): Tomorrow, after school, I want you to tell me about what you did, ok? I want you to tell me how school was.
Toby: Well, Daddy, I will have already talked very much during the day tomorrow, so my tongue will be tired, so I probably won’t be able to tell you about my day.

Mommy (picking him up from pre-school): Do you know any of your new friends’ names?
Toby: James. But he yelled at me. He said he didn’t want to tell me his name, then he yelled in my ear and it hurt my ear. I think he’s probably just a baby.
Precious boy! You should post the Mother’s Day interview. I laughed SO hard when Charlotte & Corey took parts and red it allowed (Corey played Toby).
